Hale Hubner Treehouse and Fern Cottages are perfect for friends, couples, and small groups or families that wish to experience the Volcano lifestyle at its best. Comfortably nestled in the verdant hapu'u fern and ohia rainforest surrounding the National Park, you will find our locations offer relaxing comfort and privacy all the while keeping you close to the eclectic Volcano Village and National Park, in addition to the variety of other nearby attractions. We strive to provide affordable alternatives to hotels and resorts for adventurous visitors seeking to fully experience this unique environment.

Treehouse Cottage - STVR 19-345382, NUC 19-287
Treehouse cottage is our original cozy 750 sq ft studio-style custom-built 1 bed/1 bath that sleeps 2-4 people comfortably. The warm pine wood interior naturally juxtaposes the green views of lush vegetation visible from all the large picture windows throughout the house. A spacious sun deck greets you as you exit the house, and provides excellent views of the vibrant stars during the dark evenings. On clear nights, the glow of Kilauea's Halema'uma'u crater is just visible through the tree line!
A master bed area is walled off for your privacy, and a queen-size futon in the main living area folds out to provide a second bed for additional travelers. The main living/sleeping area is located on the second level of the house and is only accessible by stairs; therefore, we are unfortunately not accessible for visitors with disabilities.
Volcano Village sits at approximately 4000 ft. elevation and temperatures generally range from the 50's in the evenings and upper 70's during the daytime. Because of the mild temperatures, air conditioning is not necessary; however, we do have a wood burning stove to ward off the evening chill. Fern Cottage - STVR 19-345557, NUC 19-293
Our newest addition is a cozy but spacious 900 sq ft 2 bed/1 bath that sleeps 2-5 people comfortably.
The high vaulted pine ceiling and wood floors naturally juxtapose with the green views of lush vegetation visible from all the numerous large windows throughout the house. A spacious covered half wrap-around deck greets you as you exit the house, and provides an excellent location to take in the views of the surrounding forest on our half acre property.
Both bedrooms have high-quality comfortable queen-size beds and a queen-size sleeper sofa is available to provide a third bed to accomodate your party's needs. The master bedroom has its own entry door to the covered porch.
